The conference will take place in Mallorca, Spain, at the University of Balearic Islands (UIB) Campus, located 7.5 km north of Palma and can be reached by metro (recommended) or by bus (line 19).
Notice: On Monday June 5th we advice to take the metro in Plaza de España at 8:15 or at 8:35 am to UIB campus. At your arrival at 8:28 or at 8:48 a person of the organization will be at UIB metro station to guide you to the conference building (registration opens at 8:30).
All talks, poster session, registration, and coffee breaks will take place in the Hall and Auditorium of the Jovellanos building (picture above). Lunch will be served in the Guillem Cifre de Colonya and Anselm Turmeda buildings (map below).
How to go from Palma Airport to Palma downtown
The international "Son Sant Joan" airport (airport code PMI) is located 8 km east of Palma.
At the Airport take the Bus Line 1 to Plaza de España (or Plaça d'Espanya). The stop is outside the Airport Arrivals' Hall. There is one bus every 12-15 minutes. Ticket price: 5€. Tickets can be purchased from the bus driver (only bills up to 10€ are accepted). For more information on buses visit the EMT web page., where you can find alternative stops hat may more suitable for your hotel. In particular, for "Hotel Abelux" we recommend the stop "Comte de Sallent".
Alternatively you can also take a Taxi from the Airport to Palma. Taxis can be found just outside the Airport Arrivals Hall. Typical fares are 20-25€ depending on destination and number of suitcases. The are supplemental fares for night and holiday services.
How to go from Palma downtown to the UIB campus
The best option to reach UIB campus is by metro (subway), line M1, from Plaza España (stop named Estació Intermodal in ticket machines). The metro ends in the UIB campus. Travel time is 13', frequency 20'. Tickets cost 1.60€ and can be purchased at the ticket machines located in the station hall (bills larger than 20€ are not accepted). Keep the ticket as it is needed to leave the station. A map and the schedule of the M1 line can be download from this page.
The first day (June 5) we advice to take the metro in Plaza de España/Plaça d'Espanya leaving at 8:15 am or at 8:35. There will be a person from the organization waiting at the UIB metro station at 8:28 or 8:48 to guide participants to the Jovellanos building. It takes a 5-10' walk. From the second day we advice to take the metro leaving at 8:55am from Plaza de España/Plaça d'Espanya" to arrive in time to the first lecture in the morning.
Alternatively, you can also take the bus line 19 (labelled as "Universitat") from Plaza España to go to the UIB campus (ticket price 1.50€). Bus frequency is about one every 15'. To get to the Jovellanos building the bus stop number is 571 and is called "Edifici Beatriu de Pinós". To go back to Palma downtown the bus stop is in front of the building (number 1140 "edifici Jovellanos") Trip time is about 30'. Tickets can be purchased from the bus driver (only bills up to 10€ are accepted).
